The 2023 edition of Cointelegraph’s Top 100 Most Influential in Crypto list will feature the most prominent, influential, and artistic people, concepts, and characters who shaped the crypto and blockchain industries in 2022, and who are likely to have a further impact in 2023 be exerted on the world.
With everything that is happening in the crypto space, it is very difficult to come up with a list that will be universally accepted. For that reason, the criteria for the Cointelegraph Top 100 remain simple: those who made the biggest impact in 2022 and could potentially continue to shape the space next year. The list recognizes those who have had an impact on the space, both positive and negative. Eventually, the glitches may result in the space maturing, with better regulation or wiser community members.
This year, the crypto community has a chance to be part of the process. A voting page allows anyone to nominate who they think deserves to be in the top 100.
VOTE: THE COINTELEGRAPH TOP 100 LIST
The voting page is live and accepting votes until January 15, 2022. Shortly after the voting site closes, Cointelegraph will release the results of the 2023 Top 100 list.
In 2020, the first place in the inaugural Cointelegraph Top 100 was taken by Changpeng Zhao, CEO of crypto exchange Binance, due to his achievements in 2019.
In 2021, first place went to “all of us” who have participated in a decentralized network within the crypto community because we make a difference as a community, big or small. Founders and CEOs in the crypto space could not have done what they could without the support of the community.
Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried made it to No. 1 on the 2022 Top 100 list. While it wasn’t positive, the former CEO has truly made a significant impact this year and is likely to make headlines regularly in 2023 .
