The vivo S16 range is official with three phones – the vivo S16 Pro is the leader of the pack with its curved AMOLED display, Dimensity 8200 chipset and 50MP cameras on the front and back. The vanilla S16 offers the same display and design, but with changed cameras and the aging but still capable Snapdragon 870 chipset. The S16e is the budget entry in the lineup, with an Exynos 1080 SoC and a 120Hz AMOLED display.
The S16 Pro and Vanilla S16 both offer 6.78-inch curved AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh and an impressive 50MP autofocus selfie shooter with dual LED flashes housed above the notch . The vivo S16e opts for a smaller 6.62-inch AMOLED flat-panel display with the same 120Hz refresh rate and a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
vivo S16 and vivo S16 Pro
The S16 Pro’s rear camera setup is spearheaded by its 50-megapixel main camera, which uses the Sony IMX766V sensor and OIS. There is an 8 MP ultrawide module here, as well as a 2 MP macro camera. Moving to the vivo S16, we find the same setup as the vivo S15 – a 64-megapixel main camera with PDAF and OIS alongside an 8-megapixel ultrawide and 2-megapixel macro unit. The S16 gets a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, along with a 2-megapixel depth macro module and a 2-megapixel depth camera.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 sits at the top of the new vivo S16 Pro, while the vanilla model gets the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chip that was also used in last year’s vivo S15. The budget S16e model also reuses the chipset from its predecessor – Samsung’s Exynos 1080.
The batteries of all three phones have a capacity of 4,600 mAh and offer fast wired charging with 66 W. vivo S16 and S16 Pro boot Android 13 with OriginOS 3 on top, while the S16e runs the outdated Android 11 with Origin OS Ocean on top brings.
The vivo s16 pro is available in black and jade green colors and starts at 3,299 CNY ($472) for the 12/256GB configuration. The top-of-the-line 12/512GB model costs 3,599 CNY ($515).
The vivo s16 is available in black, jade green and gradient colors. The base model with 8/128GB starts at CNY2,499 ($357), while the top model with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage costs CNY3,299 ($472).
The vivo s16e is available in black, jade green and purple. It starts at 2,099 CNY ($300) for the 8/128GB model and goes up to 2,499 CNY ($357) for the 12/256GB model.
Official sales of all three vivo S16 phones in China will start on December 30th. There is currently no word on an international release.
