The Chicago Bulls go into the All-Star break on a six-game losing streak and are 3-7 in the last ten. In 11th place in the East, Chicago has a 26-33 record and is 11 games behind fourth place in the East. Two free-agent point guards are currently in the buyout market and have caught Chicago’s attention. However, someone on the team would have to be fired to open a roster spot and it seems like Goran Dragic could be the victim of that.

This is Dragic’s first season with the Chicago Bulls and he has played in 51 games out of a possible 59. His minutes per game (15.4) is the second-lowest of his career, which also lowered many of his stat averages. Coby White, Zach LaVine and Ayo Dosunmu handle the guard rotation for the most part.

Illinois sports betting sites have the Bulls at (+30000) to win the finals this season.

Report: The Chicago Bulls could potentially do without Goran Dragic to open a roster spot

What does the future hold after veteran Goran Dragic’s All-Star break?

In 51 games played off the bench for the Bulls this season, Dragic averaged (6.4) points, (1.4) rebounds and (2.7) assists per game. The Bulls were one of two teams in the league not to make a single move at the close, but they are said to still be active in the buyout market.

Chicago are most interested in two former Lakers; Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverly. It has also been reported that John Wall is interested in the Bulls. Signing one of these veterans would require opening a Chicago roster slot. Unfortunately, if the Bulls are serious about adding those three, Goran Dragic seems to be the player who might be left out.

Reporters covering the Chicago Bulls shared what could happen if their team is in the market to sign a player in a buyout scenario.

“Unless the Bulls add Westbrook, John Wall and Patrick Beverley are names to remember. The Bulls are missing a player to earn a spot in the squad and their current focus puts Goran Dragić’s future in question.” – KC Johnson

Westbrook has been heavily associated with the Clippers and may not be a realistic option. However, Chicago native Patrick Beverley may be interested in playing for his hometown team.
