As weighted blankets become more popular, more companies are popping up with options. Most of the ones we’ve tried are worth recommending, including all of them here.

Aricove Weighted Blanket for $170: This is a fantastic cooling blanket for sleeping alone. It’s nice and thin so you don’t feel pinched underneath or too hot. Aricove offers 30 days return policy. Available in 10, 12, 15, 17 or 20 pounds

Yogibo Calm Antimicrobial Weighted Blanket for $159: The actual blanket is cool cotton, but the real draw here is Yogibo’s famous blend of cotton and spandex that it uses for its covers. The brand says it’s insanely soft, and it doesn’t lie. It’s stretchy and smooth and machine washable (the actual blanket isn’t). However, I found pet hair really stuck to it, which is common with softer fabrics. It says it has an antimicrobial treatment to keep it “fresher for longer”. You can return it within 14 days.

Casper Weighted Blanket for $169-$189: Casper is another popular bedding brand whose blanket is made from classic, cool cotton rather than knit or plush, which can get hot. About the size of a throw blanket, it’s dense enough that even the lightest model will give you that comfortably squished feeling, while the heaviest is like a human Thundershirt. Casper offers 30 days return policy. Available in 10, 15 or 20 pounds

YNM Knitted Weighted Blanket for $149-$298: YNM’s knitted blanket is soft and drapes perfectly – softer than Yaasa and Bearaby. It feels lighter than the others I’ve tried, so newcomers to the weighted life might prefer it. There are a few velvet options, and the brand has several other types of blankets that we haven’t tried, including a cooling one. Returns are possible within 30 days. Available in 10, 12, 15 or 20 pounds

$250-$300 Gravity Blanket: Although weighted blankets were a thing before the Gravity Blanket was announced on Kickstarter in 2017, its success quickly made it the face of the category. WIRED writer Arielle Pardes tried it in 2018, comparing it to being “wrapped in a toasted tortilla like a human burrito.” The Gravity Blanket has come down in price since it was reviewed, making this thick blanket a great option if you’re constantly cold. Available in 15, 20, 25 or 35 pounds

$100 Gravity Travel Blanket: Need a blanket on the go? The material is a bit noisy, like a sleeping bag, but it folds up and fits neatly into the included bag. Both Gravity options can be returned within 30 days.

Layla Weighted Blanket for $189-$209: Most of our options come in multiple sizes, but Layla offers a king-size version if you want to snuggle up with someone else. It is often discounted and can be returned within 120 days. Available in 15, 20 or 25 pounds
