Speaking to THR, Jerry Bruckheimer explained that the script for Margot Robbie’s Pirates of the Caribbean movie “needs a little more work” but a second script for an alternative Pirates movie that focuses on a younger cast , “is nearing final draft.
Oh god, they’re all hard. I think we’re getting very close to that too. We have a very good script. We developed two of them – the one starring Margot Robbie and one with a younger cast. The Margot Robbie needs a little more work. The younger cast is close. Hope we get both.

The new Escape From New York movie is “not a remake,” co-director Tyler Gillett said in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.
No remake. It’s one of those qualities that you can’t [remake], it’s kind of untouchable to us and lives in its own stratosphere in terms of how important it is to us and how much we love it. So it’s not going to be dissimilar to Scream, I think, a nod to and a continuation of what we love about these characters and this world.

The depth
Deadline reports that Amazon Studios is developing a series based on Nick Cutter’s horror novel The Deep by Carlton Cuse and Antlers screenwriter C. Henry Chaisson. According to the book’s official synopsis, the story is about “a strange plague called ‘Gets’ that is decimating humanity worldwide. It causes people to forget—small things first, like where they left their keys, then the not-so-small things, like how to drive or the letters of the alphabet. Their bodies forget how they function involuntarily. There is no cure. But far beneath the surface of the Pacific Ocean, a universal healer celebrated as “Ambrosia” has been discovered. To study this phenomenon, a special research laboratory was built eight miles below the sea surface. But when the station is cut off from the outside world, a brave few descend through the lightless depths, hoping to unravel the mysteries that lurk within those crushing depths… and perhaps encounter an evil blacker than all that exists you can imagine.”

James Mangold has confirmed that neither Indiana Jones nor Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Helena will star in the upcoming Disney+ spin-off series Dial of Destiny.

Star Kennedy McMann has confirmed that production has wrapped up on The CW’s fourth and final season of Nancy Drew.
