Roger Federer resigned after the Laver Cup earlier this year. But the Swiss legend is still giving back to fans.
Federer loaned his gear and shoes from the last game of his career to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island for fans to see. The outfit and an autographed copy of his suicide note are on display in the museum.
“This induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame is a fitting tribute to the final chapter of a formative career,” said Todd Martin, CEO of the International Tennis Hall of Fame’s mission to preserve tennis history as it happens. The ITHF congratulates Roger on all his achievements, the example he has set for everyone in the sport and his commitment to the history of the sport. We know this exhibition will inspire countless fans and visitors.”
There are several items related to Federer in the museum, one of which is a hologram experience bearing his likeness.
The International Tennis Hall of Fame hosts the Infosys Hall of Fame Open, an ATP 250 event that will be held July 17-23 in 2023.
