Redmi India Twitter account has been very busy lately talking about the upcoming Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+. As confirmed yesterday, both will be launched in India on January 5th. But there’s also an entry-level model that was announced alongside these two in China back in October.
Of course we are talking about the Redmi Note 12, and so far it was unclear whether it would make the journey from China to India together with its siblings. The good news is that it will be. And while it doesn’t get much airtime on Twitter, Redmi has created an entire teaser microsite for its launch in India, which you can access here.
It focuses on a few key features of the upcoming device, chief among which is 5G support. The AMOLED screen is also highlighted, including a hint that it will be brighter than what we’ve seen in previous Redmi Note non-pros. A Snapdragon chipset is also teased, along with support for 33W wired charging and a triple rear camera setup with a 48MP sensor. Last but not least, did you know that this will be the slimmest Redmi Note ever?
But spoiler alert – the Redmi Note 12 is already official in China. So while Redmi India is pretending to announce an all-new device, it looks like it will be the exact same model this time. And if so, we can spoil the rest of the specs for you here. Ready?

Launched in China, Redmi Note 12 features a 6.67-inch 1080×2400 AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nit peak brightness, Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC on top, 4/6/8GB RAM, 128/ 256 GB of storage, a 48 MP main camera in fact, a 2 MP depth sensor, an 8 MP selfie snapper and a 5,000 mAh battery running Android 12 with MIUI 13.
