Xiaomi is eyeing a sequel to last year’s Redmi A1, aptly named Redmi A2. The upcoming budget device received its official pictures and detailed specifications ahead of WinFuture’s official announcement.

The Redmi A2 will bring an essentially unchanged design from its predecessor with a waterdrop notch screen and a dual camera setup on the back. What’s new is the chipset – the phone will reportedly launch with MediaTek’s new Helio G36 chipset. The rest of the data sheet is taken over by the Redmi A1.

You can expect a 6.52-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage that should be expandable. The back is said to house an 8-megapixel main camera and an unspecified secondary AI module. The software side is covered by Android 13 (Go Edition), while the battery is said to come at 5,000mAh with 10W charging support via the outdated Micro-USB port.
Redmi A2 is expected to hit the market in a few weeks for €97. It will be available in black, blue and green colors
