Rangers manager Michael Beale believes contract talks have taken a “different angle” since his appointment as he insists he cannot fault Alfredo Morelo’s signing.
The striker is one of 11 Ibrox players out of contract in the summer and winger Ryan Kent is also among those who can start negotiations with other clubs next month.
Speculation surrounds both players but Beale is urging fans not to panic as he has implied talks could go in a different direction as he insisted he is happy to have players coming through their contract situation are motivated.
“I will always say if you have a player who is six months old or six years old then I will take the one who is six months old because they tend to be fit and focused and try to do their best for the team on the pitch and himself,” he told InNewCL Sports News.
“Alfredo’s situation, like one or two others, gives us the opportunity to look as well. There was a change of manager and a change of eyes which shakes things up and it’s fair to say the conversations that may have taken place have been different angles coming in with me now.

“Every person is unique and the most important thing for the fans to hear and know is that we’re going to play these games to get three points.”
“I think you’ve seen a jump in Ryan Kent’s form, Ryan Jack is on the team and playing well.
“Scott Arfield hasn’t hurt himself with two goals (against Aberdeen) and will come into the team.
“I think it’s too early to panic about anything, we’ll see.”
“I would not criticize Aldredo’s commitment”

With top scorer Antonio Colak injured, Morelos scored the winner against Hibs last week, while Beale got off to a winning start at Rangers, starting in Tuesday’s dramatic 3-2 win at Aberdeen.
“He had his first awkward injury at the back end of last season and came into this season with him. Antonio hid that fact because he was doing so well,” the former QPR boss added.

“Alfredo is back, he scored the winner against Hibs and he helped last night when lesser players were unable to perform.
“In terms of his involvement around the place, I wouldn’t fault that.
“The boy I see every day is training well, he’s trying, that’s all I can ask for.
“In the next seven days Antonio and Kemar Roofe will return to the squad for the Motherwell game, then we will suddenly be particularly strong in this position.”
Changes for Ross County
Image: Rangers captain James Tavernier traveled to Aberdeen alone due to illness
Beale confirmed he will be making “five changes” for the Ross County trip live on InNewCL Sports on Friday night after revealing several key members of his Rangers squad are playing through the pain barrier.
“Tavernier traveled alone (to Aberdeen). He was a huge doubt for the game and you probably saw some of that in his performance. But he’s fine now,” he said.
“Connor Goldson played his first game (against Aberdeen after injury), Ben (Davies) is coming back but he’s had some problems.
“Glen Kamara probably should have had surgery in the last few months but he’s played through it (leg problems). It’s manageable. When he plays it swells up so we have to be careful with the type of training.
Highlights of the Scottish Premiership game between Aberdeen and Rangers.
“We’re managing Ryan Jack’s minutes and John Lundstram had an injection to sit on the bench on Tuesday night.
“What you won’t know is that the day before the game against Aberdeen, Alfredo Morelos also had to come in from training and play when he shouldn’t have. I have to make it.
“He’s one of those players who play through the pain barrier for the team, so I’ll never question him in terms of his mentality. You cannot question his dedication.
“If we didn’t let anyone who had a wiggle, a runny nose or a little bit of a sore throat play, we’d struggle to get an 11 out, so that’s the situation we’re in.
“So I would never question the mentality of the group, especially with the two results as some people played where maybe they wouldn’t have played if everyone was available.
“When you walked in it was like a Pandora’s box you weren’t expecting it but so far so good.
“At the moment the results are important for the football club. It’s a busy schedule so we all have to bite our gums and leave.”
