Yellowjackets keeps it all in the family.
According to Variety, Jason Ritter is joining the upcoming second season of Showtime’s Yellowjackets, which is starring his wife, Melanie Lynskey.
Specific details – as with most things Yellowjackets – remain under wraps for now.
It’s the second time the couple have worked together in as many years, after Ritter and Lynskey both appeared on Hulu’s Candy.
As it turns out, Lynskey was actually responsible for landing Ritter his role as Deputy Denny Reese in Candy, the limited series starring Jessica Biel as the accused ax murderer Candy Montgomery.
“It was over the holiday season and we were all texting a group,” Lynskey, who played Montgomery’s victim Betty Gore, told Entertainment Weekly in May. “I texted a picture of Jason with our daughter and he had grown a mustache out of sheer boredom. [Showrunner] Robin [Veith] was like, ‘Wait a minute. It looks very contemporary.'”
Maybe she’s worked her casting magic again!
