Cunha moved from Herta Berlin to Atlético in August 2021 for 30 million euros
Wolves are close to signing Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha on loan from Atletico Madrid.
The Premier League club, who have been in talks with Cunha for several weeks, have reached a verbal agreement.
A loan deal for the 23-year-old, who is scheduled for a medical, would include a purchase commitment at the end of the season.
It is understood Atletico were ready to let Cunha go after being eliminated in the Champions League group stage.
Cunha has eight caps for Brazil but has made just one appearance for Atletico in the league this season.
New manager Julen Lopetegui wanted a conspicuous reinforcement for a side that have only scored eight goals in the Premier League this season.
