Billionaire mortgage lender Mat Ishbia completes a purchase of the Phoenix Suns. The deal, which is set to be finalized in the near future, would end owner Robert Sarver’s tumultuous tenure.
Ishbia was a member of the Michigan State team that won the NCAA men’s basketball championship in 2000 and worked with coach Tom Izzo for a year before joining UWM Holdings, which his father Jeff founded in 1986.
