Superstar LeBron James was forced out of Sunday night’s NBA All-Star Game after the league confirmed he sustained a hand injury before the halftime whistle.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary as Toronto’s Pascal Siakam, playing for the Giannis Antetokounmpo-led team, leapt to the rim in what appeared to be an uncontested dunk. Suddenly, the Lakers player tried to sneak up behind him to block the shot against the backboard, but instead of touching the ball, his fingers collided with the metal.
LeBron’s hand caught in the rim when he injured his wrist and suffered a bruise on his right hand. His pain was immediately visible, although the king decided to play on until he was officially ruled out at half-time.
Check out the game for yourself as Raptors’ Siakam was still able to score the layout:

The truth is that the All-Star Game is always a great exhibition for fans to see the best NBA players compete on the court together as it is like a dream come true for many basketball fans, rival athletes in the same to see the team play. However, there is always a chance that a player could get injured and miss the official matches of the tournament.
James finished the All-Star Match with just 13 points, four assists and a rebound after being honored as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer at halftime and eventually never making it back onto the court.
As for Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee star was also struggling with a wrist injury. As the player donned his All-Star jersey to play, he was only on the court for less than a minute when he scored a simple dunk, but checked himself immediately only to realize he really wasn’t fit enough to play to participate in it.
Just like LeBron, Antetokounmpo had to think about what matters most, which is to return healthy for their respective teams after the All-Star hiatus. While we don’t know if it was just a precautionary measure by James, it’s a fact that the Lakers have to be concerned considering he also had a recurring foot problem.
The Lakers will resume their regular season schedule against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday at Crypto.com Arena.
Team Giannis beat LeBron’s roster by nine points
In a very amusing duel, Team Giannis finally captured the All-Star Game after the final score was 184 to 175 when the final buzzer sounded.
Although cameras were everywhere on the 38-year-old legend, it was Boston’s Jayson Tatum who stole the show. Not only was he the best player on the court, his 55-point performance set a new All-Star record for the highest score by a single player in that infamous showcase.

Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell also had a notable game as the shooting guard was the top offensive player for LeBron’s roster, dropping 40 points overall but also adding 4 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists throughout the game.
