Jofra Archer will return to an England squad for the first time since March 2021 after being included in the party for next month’s ODI series in South Africa.
Fast bowler Archer has been called up in England’s 14-man squad for the three-game series against the Proteas, which begins on Friday January 27 in Bloemfontein.
Archer has been out for almost two years and is out with injuries including elbow problems and a stress fracture in his back.

The rights arm is said to be recovering well from an elbow injury and could return to South Africa for international cricket next month.
The three-game series will be played over six days, with games in Bloemfontein and Kimberley. The first game starts on January 27th, the second on January 29th, both in Bloemfontein, the last game will take place in Kimberley on February 1st.
However, new star Rehan Ahmed will not be on the tour. The 18-year-old leg spinner got off to a stunning start to his international career when he became the youngest man in Test history to score a five-wicket pull on his debut.
