Season 3 of The Witcher is due out on Netflix next year – a bittersweet binge for Henry Cavill fans as it will be the last time he plays Geralt of Rivia before Liam Hemsworth steps into the role (Superman anything, Warhammer anything ). . But don’t worry: the outgoing star is getting a fitting farewell.
“Henry brought so much to the show and we want to give it proper credit,” said showrunner Lauren Hissrich Weekly entertainment. “Geralt’s great turning point [in season three] it’s about giving up neutrality and doing whatever he has to do to get to Ciri. And to me it’s the most heroic goodbye we could have, even though it wasn’t written that way. Geralt has a new mission in mind when we come back to him in season four. He’s a slightly different Geralt than we expected. That’s an understatement, by the way.”
Hissrich notes that Time of Contempt, the fourth entry in Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher novel series, will define most of Cavill’s swan song, and calls season three “the closest thing we can get as a one-to-one adaptation of the books.” is coming… Time of Contempt has brought us so many big action events, plot points, defining character moments and huge reveals of a great bad. There’s so much to do that we’ve been able to stick very, very closely to the books.”
The third season of The Witcher will be available on Netflix in 2023.
