Elon Musk could step out the door as Twitter’s CEO. There’s only one catch.
“I’ll step down as CEO as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take the job!” the billionaire, who bought Twitter for $44 million in October, sparking controversy over the takeover itself and company changes that he made after taking on the role, tweeted 20th of December. “After that, I’ll just lead the software and server teams.”
And a social media pioneer jokingly volunteered as a tribute. Tom Anderson, aka “Tom From MySpace,” responded with a screenshot of his famous MySpace profile picture and bio, which also read, “Last login: 3/11/2006.”
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg tweeted, “Should I twitter?”
Two days earlier, Musk asked users of his social media platform about his role.
“Should I step down as Twitter boss?” the Tesla CEO who has more than 122.5 million followers, tweeted December 18th. “I will stick to the results of this poll.”
