The Lakers were without Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook as they lost to the Kings for the second straight season (120-134).

After the game, head coach Darvin Ham was asked if he noticed a drop in morale among his players who lost Davis, who is an important part of the team.

“Yes, that’s human nature, but it has to be about the spirit of competition, the spirit of being an NBA player, an NBA coach, being part of an NBA organization and a historical one at that, and just thinking about the natural ones Elements to look forward to that you get to be a part of,” Ham said.

“Not everyone is allowed to put on a uniform and play in the NBA, not everyone is allowed to train in the NBA, not everyone is allowed to work in the NBA or be one of the managers of the shop, so to speak, and be part of an NBA franchise, let alone one like the Lakers .

“So it’s an honor to come here every night and be a part of Purple and Gold and go out and try to make a difference. Again, things don’t happen overnight. It’s our 31st game. We have 51 games left.

“So we’re going to keep chopping and axing and building and trying to keep laying the foundation that we came here with. But it is the spirit of competition that I think precedes everything.”
