After winning the 2023 NBA 3-point contest, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard opened up about the amazing physical state he’s in right now.

Reporter: “I’m just curious that you’re having a successful career year after a decade so late in your career. Does that give you the confidence that you can play at this level well into your 30s?”
Lillard: “I know I can do it. My game is not based on being super athletic or anything like that. I’m not the fastest point guard in the league. I’m playing a quick game, a smart game. i am smart I can shoot the ball. I think being able to shoot the ball like I can shoot it from the dribble, from the catch, from the screens, whatever, that’s a weapon you can play longer with. Additionally, as a student of the game, you are able to manipulate the game in ways that everyone cannot. So I know I can play at a high level as long as I want to play. Of course not in old age, but I will be able to do it for a long time. Having surgery last season to correct something I’ve been struggling with for a couple of years, I feel like it brought me back to 27. So I’m basically 27 now. I have a while to go.”
