The Buffalo Bills shared more insight into Damar Hamlin’s on-field incident.
Hours after the 24-year-old NFL star suddenly collapsed during the Jan. 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, his team released a statement regarding his condition.
“Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest after scoring in our game against the Bengals,” said Bills Twitter January 3 read. “His heartbeat was restored in the field and he was transferred to UC Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment. He is currently sedated and in critical condition.”
Hamlin’s friend and marketing rep, Jordan Rooneyalso shared an update after Hamlin was taken to hospital, writing: “His vitals are back to normal and they euthanized him to put a breathing tube down his throat. They are currently conducting tests.”
Confirmation of the athlete’s condition comes hours after he received medical attention following his sudden fall during the game. Medics performed CPR for more than 10 minutes while his teammates surrounded Hamlin.
