The race for the 95th Academy Awards gets underway with today’s unveiling of 10 Oscar shortlists that will decide the nominations for the 2023 awards. Potential competitors include James Camerson’s Avatar: The Way of Water, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Daniels’ Everything Everywhere All At Once and RRR by SS Rajamouli.
Some other io9 favorites like Nope, Crimes of the Future, The Batman and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever made it as well. The shortlisted categories include the awards for Makeup and Hairstyling, Score, Sound, Visual Effects and Original Song.
